UK author and media personality Richard Osmond recently announced on his own podcast that audio books are the fastest-growing format in the publishing industry. The reason being that you can listen to an audio book while driving, gardening, lulling yourself to sleep or even … ironing! In other words, feel free to multitask – safely.

As readers, writers and creators, you’ll get ahead of the ‘audio’ pack this Friday 14 November or again on Sunday 16 November by listening, free of charge, to stories by Elwood Writers on Vision Australia Radio. Presenter Tim McQueen, host of the literary program Cover to Cover, will feature the group with poetry by Helen McDonald, short fiction by Barry Lee Thompson and memoir by me, Margaret McCaffrey.

Over the years, Tim has done a brilliant job in bringing a range of literary offerings to his enthusiastic audience. We at Elwood Writers are thrilled to be a part of this year’s Cover to Cover lineup.

Margaret is a Melbourne/Naarm-based writer currently writing about the relationship she had with her father, a veteran of World War II, who was injured in Greece and a prisoner of war in Germany for four years. Excerpts from her manuscript can be found in American Writers Review, Jewels of San Fedele and Clairitage Press. Margaret was awarded a scholarship to the Norman Mailer Writers Colony in the US to develop her memoir. In 2015, she received her MA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University, PA. She writes non-fiction, memoir and the occasional short story.
