Queensland Literary Awards, Barry’s collection shortlisted

We at Elwood Writers are excited to announce that Broken Rules and Other Stories by Barry Lee Thompson has been shortlisted for the 2021 University of Southern Queensland Steele Rudd Award. To see the shortlisted authors and judges comments, click here.

Barry has been a founding member of Elwood Writers since 2007. He is the recipient of prizes, awards and fellowships for his writing, which has been published in Australia and around the world. Broken Rules and Other Stories (Transit Lounge) has been enthusiastically reviewed since its release in September 2020. Margaret is a Melbourne-based writer currently working on a memoir about the relationship she had with her father who was a veteran of World War II and prisoner of war in Germany. Excerpts from her manuscript can be found in American Writers Review, Jewels of San Fedele and Clairitage Press. Margaret received a scholarship to the Norman Mailer Writers Colony in Provincetown, to develop her memoir. She received an MA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University, USA. She writes non-fiction, memoir and the occasional fiction.
